Steven and Whitney : Wedding
Whitney and Steven were married on July 10th, just before we went on vacation. Now that we're back they were 1st in line for blog post-tation, err, posting,.. well you get the point. Whitney and Steven (who helped in designing the new Biggs Photography logo, thanks Steven!) were a great couple; they even got crazy for their first dance with a fantastic swing dance routine! Also, be sure to look for the epic Matrix inspired groomsmen shot...

Colorado and California... vacation!
Every once in a while we need to get away from the day to day and take some time to relax. This year we made the trip from Cedar Falls to Estes Park Colorado before continuing on to California to visit family. It was a long drive, no, wait, it was a LOOONG drive, but it was definitely worth it. We had a great time and it was awesome to see everyone.
Got up at 4:25 in the morning to hike to Dream Lake for sunrise. It was a steep grade and absurdly early, but this was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen.
The sunrise reds on Hallett Peak only lasted 11 minutes so I didn't have much time for multiple locations. Took this photo just after the best light had passed. Maybe next time!
The walk back from Dream Lake felt SO much easier than the walk there. My father and I enjoyed taking our time walking back and the light was still phenomenal.
Kenny didn't go on the hike with us, but man was this kid a trooper! He drove 4300+ miles in a car seat but was awesome about it. As long as someone (usually Mommy) was sitting beside him he was content. My son is awesome.
ATTENTION CAMPERS: This is exactly why they tell you not to leave your trash laying around. This bear found an open dumpster and capitialized on it about 200 yards from our campsite.
Kenny's a ladies man. Fact.
We were waiting for road construction on Trail Ridge Road, thought I'd make the best of the delay. 6 shot composite.
It wasn't extensively planned, but this turned out to be one of my favorite shots from the whole trip.
I thought Dream Lake was an early day... wrong! Was up at 4:00am to get to Emerald Lake by sunrise. Well worth the hike!
Still working the kinks out of this one but decided to post it anyway. 6 shot composite.
On the way home we stopped in Lake Tahoe for a day to spend some more time with my in-laws. Beautiful place.
A stormy lake made for a pretty good panorama, too bad the woman in a too small bikini ruins it. Ah well, such is life.

No, thank you!
We have plenty of new photos coming up, but I thought I'd stop and share a letter I received today from a previous client. I love doing this for a living; I LOVE being a part of someone's wedding day and I can't overstate how great it is to work with all the fantastic people I have as clients. That being said, getting e-mails like this one is truly the icing on the cake. (Actually, I don't like icing, but you get the idea.) Thank you so much Jessica!

Hello, Travis!
THANK YOU for everything you've done for what has been the most special day of our lives! Yes, we did look through the album and, of course, it's just gorgeous! We've had so many family members compliment us on our pictures. I do still have your business cards I'm sharing, so I hope that's okay. You're definitely in the right field.
Thank you for bringing the wooden hanger and for helping out with so many details of the day. Nicole was PHENOMENAL for everything she did for me. She just magically got those flowers pinned on and did such a nice job of keeping the pictures moving smoothly. I really don't think we could have been luckier in choosing a photographer (and his wife). Thank you so much for everything, and we'll be happy to complete the feedback on your fan page. We wish you the best of luck and, if we're lucky enough to have children someday and other photography needs, you're on the top of our list. Thanks so much & best wishes with all your future endeavors!
Sincerely,
Jessica Webb

Chad and Kara : Engaged
Chad and Kara's engagement session was a long time coming! The first attempt was cancelled due to weather but we finally got it in. Chad and Kara are getting married at Park Place Event Center in Cedar Falls and we decided to shoot our engagement session there. The shoot was a short one, but it was great to meet you both!
